How to skip products import for a certain category?

Product Catalog (CSV, Excel) Import module allows to create the fields you need with special formulas when importing products.

With the help of these fields, you can create a condition that will allow you to skip products import of a specific category.

For example, let's consider a file for import "Demo Automatic", in which during import it is necessary to skip products that have a category "Shirt".

Choose our file to import and move on by clicking "Next":

Then open the "Additional Settings" tab and create a custom field "skip_product". 
In the field Formulal, enter the value 0. This means that with a value of 0 - do not skip products, with a value of 1 - skip products.

After this, add a new condition we describe the formula for selecting products from the category "Shirt" that will be skipped from import.
And don't forget to save changes!

Now go to the "Import Conditions" tab and select the value of the field "Skip product from import" created by us a custom field "skip_product":

Done! Now we can start importing. Let's look at the data in our file for a start:

So, our import with skipping products by category worked correctly and successfully.
